The primary purpose of your job position is to assist in planning, organizing, and developing, the overall operation of the Activity Department in The Villas neighborhood at Ovation Sienna Hills in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Director of Independent Living, to assure that an on-going program of activities is designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.

Job
Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and implement the activity program for The Villas neighborhood.
Assume the authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing all volunteers and ensure volunteers are screened and supervised according to Arete policy.
Develop and distribute monthly activities calendar and newsletter for residents and family members.
Post activities calendar in public area.
Coordinate and schedule outside vendors and presenters and ensure that their material is appropriate; and the form of presenting is appropriate Participate in community event planning with Life Enrichment and Marketing staff.
Arrange transportation for events, activities, and outings.
May assist the concierge with doctors' appointments when necessary.
Ensure proper transportation for resident activities.
Including driving Ovation vehicles and participating in required orientation and on-going training for safe driving Interview residents or family members to obtain activity suggestions.
Make routine visits to residents and provide one-on-one visits to those residents who may not participate in regular activities.
Process monthly Villa utility bills from TDS for cable and internet.
Monitor staff to ensure that they are following established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies Report known or suspected incidents of fraud, waste and/or abuse to the Director of Independent Living Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information.
Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information Always promote the company in a positive manner Adhere to all standards in employee handbook (cell phones, computer use, dress code, etc.
) Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the community Other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed by the Administrator
Specific Requirements:
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must be over the age of 21 years old and able to pass a background check to drive Ovation vehicles Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing activity services.
Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
As part of being an Ovation team member you may be recorded or photographed as part of marketing campaigns and quality assurance.

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.

Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this Community, which include a medical and physical examination.
Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times, hostile people within the Community.
Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 35 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations Education:
Must possess, as a minimum, high school diploma.
